Statistical Methods Training Overview

Statistical methods courses are designed for employees and assignees of SEMATECH and its subsidiaries, specifically those who:

  • are implementing the guidelines of the SEMATECH Qualification Plan.
  • wish to develop hands-on statistical skills by taking state-of-the-art short courses covering key areas of industrial statistics.

The courses have been developed by ISMI and are taught by Predictum instructors. Courses which illustrate statistical concepts with the JMP software package use version 8.x of JMP.

Prerequisites

Most Statistical Methods courses have prerequisites. Please check the course descriptions to determine whether there are prerequisites for the course you plan to take.

Recorded Training

If you are are member of ISMI or SEMATECH or a member of the ISMI Statistics Council, you may download recordings of training that was offered in 2010. You must have a SEMATECH member company website account to access these sessions.

Minimum Enrollment

A minimum of five (5) students must be enrolled 2 weeks prior to class start in order for the class to be delivered. Classes which do not meet minimum enrollment will be cancelled.

Tuition

Statistical methods courses are offered at no charge to SEMATECH and ISMI Member Companies and employees, as well as to employees of ISMI Statistics Council participants.

Associate members can enjoy one free class per year, followed by a 25% tuition discount on all other classes.

These courses are also available to the general public at the rate of $1320 for JSL, $880 per student for Basics 2, Basics 3, DOE 1 and DOE 2 and $440 per student for Basics 1, SPC, and MSA.

Distance Learning

All class are taught via distance learning. We will provide teleconference information after enrollment and receipt of tuition. One electronic PDF copy of the course notes will be provided to each site registering. Tuition fees are on a per-student basis, not a per-company basis. Extra time will be given to distance students for follow-up questions, up to one month after the course has been completed.
