Statistical Methods Training Overview

Statistical methods courses are designed for employees and assignees of SEMATECH and its subsidiaries, specifically those who:

  • are implementing the guidelines of the SEMATECH Qualification Plan.
  • wish to develop hands-on statistical skills by taking state-of-the-art short courses covering key areas of industrial statistics.

The courses are developed and instructed by the SEMATECH Statistical Methods Group. Courses which illustrate statistical concepts with the JMP software package use version 7.x of JMP.

Prerequisites

Most Statistical Methods courses have prerequisites. Please check the course descriptions to determine whether there are prerequisites for the course you plan to take.

If you feel you already have the prerequisite knowledge without taking one of SEMATECH's classes, contact us at statweb@ismi.sematech.org to discuss your situation.

Registration Policies

Member company employees who are not current assignees are automatically waitlisted until two weeks prior to class start date and will be notified via email at most two weeks prior to start date if there is room available in the class.

Minimum Enrollment

A minimum of five (5) students must be enrolled 2 weeks prior to class start in order for the class to be delivered. Classes which do not meet minimum enrollment will be cancelled.

Tuition

Statistical methods courses are offered at no charge to SEMATECH and ISMI Member Companies and employees.

These courses are also available to the general public at the rate of $440 per day per student, or $220 for half-day classes.

Distance Learning

New for 2008, we are piloting a distance learning program. We will provide teleconference information after enrollment and receipt of tuition. One electronic PDF copy of the course notes will be provided to each site registering. Tuition fees are on a per-student basis, not a per-company basis. Extra time will be given to off-site students for follow-up questions, up to one month after the course has been completed.
