RaP Reference Implementation
The RaP Reference Implementation (RRI) is an emulator of SEMI E139 RaP-enabled factory components. ISMI offers this RRI tool to developers of RaP capabilities.
What is RaP?
The Recipe and Parameter Management (RaP) capability represents a fundamental improvement in factory automation. RaP-enabled equipment support critical factory system enhancements to the way process recipes are handled and managed. For more information, consult the Recipe and Parameter Management (RaP) Supplier Guidance.
What is the RRI?
The SEMI E139 standard defines communications among factory components. ISMI has created a reference implementation of the SEMI E139 standard. This tool can emulate a RaP-enabled equipment, factory system, and/or off-tool editor. Each component can initiate or receive RaP messaging under user control with detailed logging capabilities.
The primary purpose of the RaP Reference Implementation is to aid the implementers of RaP to evaluate whether their implementations are correctly done and to ensure interoperability with other implementations. The RRI provides evaluation capability in advance of the availability of more sophisticated testing applications.
How to Obtain the RRI
RaP implementers may request a license for the RRI at no charge.
NOTE: Only ISMI member companies will be granted licenses prior to April 30, 2008.
