Using the Document Template Off Site

To install the template on your PC from diskette or from e-mail,

Copy the template file to your hard drive as you would any other file. Save it to the drive that your program files are on. (Example: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Templates) After entering information on the template for the first time, make sure you do a Save As and give your document a new name. This will save the original template for subsequent use.

To install the template from the web,

Right click on Techxfr2k-Gen.dot and select Save Target As or Save Link As to retrieve the template. Then save it to your hard drive.

To use the template,

  • Start Word
  • Select File/New from the Word menu bar
  • Select Techxfr2k-Gen from the list of new document templates
  • Click OK
  • Fill in the template.
