Industry Economic Model
Industry Economic Modeling will assist our member companies and their suppliers as they plan for the future by providing a toolbox to explore technology assumption and business dynamics scenarios. While not a forecasting toolbox, the model will provide unbiased (IC Makers & Suppliers assure this) sensitivity analysis as a foundation for building common understanding. SEMATECH has been involved in an ambitious effort to model the dynamics of the chip making business, its equipment and materials supply chain.
While the economic model is designed to help manufacturers and their suppliers plan for the future, it is not designed as a forecasting tool. Industry feedback to SEMATECH will bolster the model effectiveness and will influence the future directions of its development.
