5th ISMI Symposium on Manufacturing Effectiveness
Short Course: "Factory Simulation"
Tuesday, October 21
8AM-Noon
Instructor: Robert L. Wright, ISMI
This 4-hour short course is intended to be an introduction to factory simulation and cost modeling for non-modeling personnel. The course will include:
- An overview of factory simulation and how it is used in the semiconductor industry
- A demonstration of discrete-event simulation software using industry accepted software
- Simulation scenarios and sensitivities—and their effect on WIP and lot cycle time—will be shown for factory components such as:
- equipment run-rate
- lot release rates
- equipment counts
- set up times
- Cost Modeling demonstration
Attendees can expect to gain a better understanding of how factory simulation and cost modeling software works and how it is used in the semiconductor industry. It is not intended to address your factory specific issues that require modeling activities.
About the Instructor
Robert Wright manages the discrete event simulation program and cost modeling efforts at ISMI. He has 13 years of experience in both dynamic simulation and static cost modeling. Robert received a BBA degree in Management and a Masters of Science in Technology from Texas State University.
Who should Attend
This course is recommended for process engineers, equipment engineers, industrial engineers, fab managers, and financial planners who want to learn the basics of semiconductor factory simulation and cost modeling applications.
How to Register
You must register to attend this short course. There is a registration fee of $100 for ISMI Members; $250 for all others.
