Meet the Team
Ron Remke is the program manager for ISMI’s ESH Technology Center, with overall responsibility for the Center’s operations and numerous projects. Remke, who joined SEMATECH in 1999 as a Lucent assignee, previously led the consortium’s Metrology and ESH programs. Remke has over 28 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, including positions in process development, manufacturing operations, yield improvement, quality, and reliability at Bell Labs, Lucent, and Agere. Remke holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Purdue University.
Tom Huang is the project manager for ISMI’s Resource Conservation project with a focus on energy and water reduction. Huang has over 14 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, primarily in equipment and facilities, most recently completing the Phase 1 start-up of Samsung’s 300mm 300ksf flash fabrication facility in Austin, Texas. Huang holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas, and a LEED® Accredited Professional with the United States Green Building Council.
Mike Frisch is the project manager for ISMI’s ESH Technology and Resource Conservation and Manufacturing Sustainability project, focused on efforts to reduce the environmental footprint of semiconductor manufacturing facilities. Frisch a member of technical staff at Spansion, where he has worked in EHS for five years. He previously worked for Intel and Advanced Micro Devices in corporate and site facility groups and site EHS. In 2007, Frisch created a non-profit project called “One House At a Time,” whose mission is to install energy- and water-efficient technologies and solar photovoltaic systems in the homes of low-income families. Frisch is a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas and holds a Ph. D. in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
James Beasley is the project manager for ISMI's ESH Technology project, with responsibility for ISMI's Green Fab and Sustainable Technology activities. Beasley joined SEMATECH in 2003 as an Intel assignee, and is credited with establishing the consortium's Supply Chain ESH Leadership initiative. During his 25 years in the semiconductor industry, he has held positions in manufacturing; facilities equipment engineering; specialty gas and chemical management; and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS). Beasley is a LEED® Accredited Professional with the United States Green Building Council and a diplomat of the Institute of Safety and Systems Management at the University of Southern California.
