Abstract:  This document contains background on the International SEMATECH
(ISMT) project MFGM017 to develop criteria and processes to
support third-party assessment of conformance to industry
standards and general information about certification programs.
It describes models for authorization and accreditation and types
of conformance assessment. A glossary of terms used in related
ISMT standards conformance guidelines is included. More
information about accreditation body and test service provider
criteria is in complementary Technology Transfers: #02114343A-
ENG, #02114344A-ENG, and #02114345B-ENG.
