ISMI Invites Participants to Fab Managers Forum during SEMICON West

Austin, TX (23 June 2004) – The International SEMATECH Manufacturing Initiative (ISMI) will co-sponsor with SEMI the popular Fab Managers Forum, a professional gathering focusing on semiconductor manufacturing products and factory performance, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 13 at Moscone Center in San Francisco.

Micron CEO Steve Appleton will open as keynote speaker.

The Forum—with its theme “Maximize Profitability by Optimizing Productivity”—is a peer-to-peer program designed to help identify roadblocks in the industry and create solutions for successful manufacturing.

Typical participants include fab and operations managers, process and equipment managers, executives of chip manufacturing and supplier companies, and customers and suppliers of automated process control (APC) and productivity systems technologies.

This year’s Forum topics were developed from an informal survey of 2003 attendees, and include breakout sessions and panel discussions on advanced process control, capital equipment efficiency, and short cycle times.

Panel leaders will include Scott Kramer, Director of ISMI; Professor Robert Leachman, UC Berkeley; Rinn Cleavelin and Nital Patel, both of Texas Instruments; Alan Weber, Alan Weber & Associates; and Arvin Khosravi, Analog Devices. A networking lunch also will be offered.

Interested persons are invited to register at the SEMICON West website, www.semi.org/semiconwest/fmf.
